Dream

Education is something that can never be taken away from a person. Knowledge is power.

This is simple advice a grandmother gave to their 2nd grade grandson. Still so young, but the advice comes from a grandmother who fled the Nazis to New York. After fleeing to New York, the grandmother finds herself working the only job she could get, working on a factory floor. After some time, she decides she wants to become a doctor. After applying to countless colleges, she is denied acceptance to each one. When asking why she was denied, only one college responded stating she was rejected by each school because she is a woman, an immigrant and Jewish. The following year, she applied to countless colleges again. This time she was accepted to one school and would later become a doctor.

This story would inspire her grandson decades later, but it is important to understand how important each of our own story’s matter. Our individual stories will inspire others when their inspiration is nowhere to be found. We may not know who or when, but it will happen. It does not matter our income level, race or gender, each of our stories matter and we need to work to inspire others.

Sure, things are going to happen in life that will discourage us or we will receive unfair treatment. There will be times when we are overlooked for a job or receive a setback. If we want our lifelong dreams to come true, we must be committed to them, be determined to make it a reality and do not stop going after our dream until we see it come true. Never forget every great thing started from a dream. It was a dream which ignited into an idea, the idea to a project and then the original dream became reality and in turn something bigger came to life beyond our comprehension.

Life changing things happen when we put our faith and trust in God. When we place hopes and dreams with him, he will do something so amazing it will blow our minds. We must never make our dreams and aspirations too small or just think about a few things that may work out over time. Make our dreams so big that it could never be done by ourself, make it something that will stretch your faith, a dream that will give God a chance to do something huge for you.

Never forget, the same God that parted the sea, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind also knows your name and is there for you when you least expect it. Let God work in your life and you will be amazed at what may happen.

Let’s not forget our story about a grandmother and her grandson. The grandson is MasterClass Founder and CEO David Rogier. A man who wanted to give people access to education in a way that was never done before. He wanted to get people access to the best and brightest people in the world like never before. He believes if people can have access to the best and brightest, this will help people to learn and grow. Not only did he do this but he also continues to live out a life his grandmother would be proud of. As his grandmother would say, “Education is something that can never be taken away from you.” Now her grandson is spreading this message to the entire world.

What dream may you have that you are waiting to take the first step in completing? Put your faith and trust in God and take that first step. Your dream and story may be what people are needing to hear!

XOXO

Mark
