You Matter

Each May is designated as Mental Health Awareness Month. A good reminder to focus on the importance of mental health and its impact on our own personal well-being. Mental health conditions can affect anyone, regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, or income level. Currently, our nation and world overall is facing an unprecedented mental health crisis among people of all ages and backgrounds, including young children and older adults. To put this into perspective, if you were standing in a room full of people, at least one out of every five of those people likely experienced anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions in the last year.

The array of emotions people experience during miscarriage, infant loss or infertility can be extremely daunting. The thought and feeling of people not being able to relate and understand your situation can be isolating, causing loneliness, anxiety, depression, uncontrolled anger and sadness. Having resources available to individuals and families experiencing such events is imperative to addressing their mental, emotional and physical health. Our ultimate goal of Walking Puzzled is to reach those experiencing the raw emotions of loss and to provide support to them in a manner that lets them know they are not alone and that their thoughts and feelings are valid.

Walking Puzzled is one of many resources out there to help individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. There are 24/7/365 days resources out there. We want to share some of these with our community in order to spread the encouraging word that seeking help for mental health is a strength not a weakness. We want to encourage everyone to seek out and receive the help we need to better our holistic health.
